Brought back to life. Tohatsu 106Y

Arrival



Day in the 17/Dec, The wooden box arrived. Mr. Oouchi, his wife, and driver of the lorry took the heavy box on the floor. Some days after, the box opened.

Condition of the bike



Condition of the bike was almost good. But some parts were damaged. And there were some problems. There was not fairing. There were not original parts. Mudguard was different from original. Also throttle and footrest were different too. Scratch-strewn piston...


Footrest is not original.


The damaged parts were sent back to the England, and repaired by insurance. TGA arranged the throttle, and they found it. Also TGA made the front mudguard. It was a marvelous finish. Regarding the fairing, there was a misunderstanding of the translator. But TGA made the fairing, and sent to Mr. Oouchi. I wish praise TGA's good faith and conscience.

Mr. Oouchi started the restoration earnestly in 2000/May. The person in charge of it was Mr. Tomizuka. He is a master of classic 2 cycle twin. He have restored many Yamaha TD-1. They brought the bike in the studio of Mr. Tomizuka. He will make the footrest. Also he will restore the engine.

Mr. Oouchi made the rear mudguard helped by Mr. Morita. He is a great collector of the classic racers. He also own Tohatsu 106Y. They made the copy of the mudguard.
